Our Mission
The ATL Foundation provides financial assistance to self-identified lesbians living in Colorado who are experiencing financial hardship due to ill health. Through community generosity, we help cover essential expenses so recipients can focus on healing and well-being.
Why Flamingos on a Bike?
The pink flamingo became a beloved gay symbol in the 1970s, representing fabulousness and queerness. In nature, flamingos often form same-sex pairings, building nests and raising chicks together. ATL Foundation began when a group of friends rallied around a member of their informal bicycle group who was diagnosed with lung cancer. Our flamingo-on-a-bike logo symbolizes giving lesbians a lift when they need it most.
Inclusivity
Our mission is to support lesbians in need. We recognize that the lesbian community includes people with diverse gender identities and lived experiences. We also know that identities are diverse and ever-evolving. We welcome and encourage applications from anyone who self-identifies as a lesbian and are committed to offering support in a respectful, inclusive, and affirming environment.
